Evaluation

The evaluation of the AGEP Engineering Alliance is intended to inform an iterative development process with a commitment to culturally responsive evaluation. This means that the evaluation is structured to consider the unique viewpoints and contexts of each stakeholder and group of stakeholders. Because the goal of the Alliance is to impact the career trajectory of postdoctoral participants, the evaluation centers on amplifying the voices of the participants, asking questions about what they see as their greatest needs. The evaluation focuses on sharing the stories of the individuals, relationships, and contexts of the project to ultimately inform how the alliance serves the engineering postdoctoral scholar population.

Evaluators currently serve as a liaison to the external advisory board (EAB) to document and communicate recommendations to the Alliance. The current focus of the evaluation is to assess the effectiveness of the AGEP’s model development, implementation and testing, to track participants documenting their career growth while considering how the Alliance contributes to that growth, and to assess how the alliance impacts change at the institutional level.
